Topic: Big, heavy, solid ruby red vase, id help please.

I bought this vase in Sweden and can not say I have seen any simular before from here.
What do you think about this 27cm high, dark ruby red, bubbles in the glass vase.
Applied with yellow/orange and with a hole.
Polished base with wear.
Hope anyone can point me in some direction.

  How well is the hole in the middle made?
It's a difficult thing to do. The glass has to be cut while it is still hot and the ends and sides persuaded to meet up neatly, to form a seal.
I got a bit interested in this a while back.
I got hold of one of those crackle jugs with intrinsic handles made in this way - I don't think mine can possibly be Moser, because where the cut bits of glass join up, it's all a bit rough and lumpy.
I haven't found a Moser one to see what that is like to compare it yet, though.

But how well it is done might help you to start looking for a certain quality and proficiency of maker, if it was not done in a mould, of course.

I also bought a vase that was on an internet auction a good while back, because it had a hole in the middle and looked interesting.
It turned out to be something very special. The hole in the middle of that is superb; all neat and tidy.
But I really don't think Laisner made your red vase.

I attach som more inages.
I see that the hole is cut and put together again.
There are two images one tge outside and one from the inside of the vase.
I also put in a hole from an other vase of mine and this hole is even better made than the red one.

No problem I have a 'forato' bowl and stumbled across the term when trying to find a maker for it or at least the possible country it was made. Most of them seem to be made in murano

Thanks for those superb pics! Photographing the hole is not easy.
It looks like your red vase is similar to the old jug I have (which is not nearly as crude as I  thought, I've had it out and checked and felt it.) while the second smooth hole looks much more like my Laisner.

I was also very, very stupid to suggest a hole could be made using a mould. 
I was thinking about some new modern decanters I have seen, in very thin glass, all in one piece, with a hole in them.
I don't know how those are made. The hole is not cut and rejoined.

I'm pleased to see Glass Staircase coming up with a suggestion which is bit more practical for you.
But holes in glass vessels are very interesting.

It is hard to find some objects...
This vase is well done, in some way it reminds me of my other Murano hole vase.
Same type of polished bottom, massiv, heavy and little iridescent.
The bubbles are only in this red, took a new picture in the sun.
Here comes a picture of the other, an Anse volante vase by Gregorio Ferro for AVeM.
I have to search more and see if I can find the red one...

It reminds me of Ukranian glass.  The colour combination, the repetitive bobbly handles.

I don't know whether the clean finish on the base would be how their glass might be finished though as I have only one probable piece and that has a rough but neat pontil mark.  However the thickness of the glass and firepolished rim and the repetitive bobbly handle and the colours made me think Ukranian.  Do you think that is possible?
