Does it glow under uv? I do rather expect Pompeian to react.  :)

I think it could well be Pompeian.
I wouldn't, if it didn't. ;)

Have you tried any talc on its bum yet?
It might reveal a faint mark.

Far too much wear, the other piece I have is also worn and all that's left of the mark is  'LSH'

Have you tried talc and the uv light together to see if anything is revealed? ;D
I was hoping the mark might be in the concave bit of the pontil mark.

Although perhaps cinnamon and the torch might be better. Talc probably has "brightening" rubbish in it.

Marks can be found in odd places. I once found one on the bottom part of the handle of jug.
I can't remember if it was Stuart or Webb-C. But it was a well-known one - in a very odd and unexpected place.

 :)
Lots of Pompeian isn't marked. I'm still sure it's Pompeian. The bubbles are right, you say the shape is correct and it glows. That's three features correct.
It has the correct amount of real age-related wear.
There are no wrong, dodgy or dubious features. Not one. ;D
