Topic: Large Cobalt Blue & Uranium Twisted Fruit Bowl???

This is a nice large bowl in blue with a hint of uranium, Has plenty of wear on the underneath from use maybe mid century date wise.
About 18" wide x 7" tall any ideas on the maker age anything really. Thank you for looking

Thank you i can see the similarities also was thinking Murano but does not seem to have the weight of
Murano pieces i have had in the past i will look into chalet more

Worth a look. I had a Chalet Glass ash tray with similar swirls/ribs but in clear and with what I thought was uranium glass cased within the swirls. When I looked under magnification you could clearly see brush strokes in the very thin layer of what I had thought was uranium glass. The paint or whatever was cased within the clear and didn’t look distorted so I assumed it was applied after the formation of the swirls/ribs.

  If you have the bowl in a dark room and point your uv torch at it, how close do you have to be to the bowl for the green glow to appear?
I know it is looking uranium-ish, but I suspect it might be heavy use of manganese decolourant.
Uranium will glow at a much bigger distance from the torch than manganese will. If it still glows at about 6+ feet away, you've got Uranium.
Manganese will fade away before that.

I am not casting any nasturtiums (or even aspertions  ) about your housekeeping, but I know I can end up with some sort of green glow like that appearing on stuff just from dust accumulating...
