Molineaux And Webb no 496??????? In blue ??
« on: May 10, 2019, 08:26:36 PM »
These are stirring up a bit of interest at the moment on my listings, they look the spitting image of the Vaseline 5 inch Mol Web Candlesticks, but these are only 4 inches, have a hollowed base and if you look closely you’ll see there BLUE!!!!  Very unusual!!!!  Feel free to add your comments. Might take them to the glass fair Sunday and ask the experts. Cheers Mike

Hello Anne, no rd or mark on these and I think the 5 inch Vaseline ones are unregistered.
Blue is an uncommon colour for the Manchester makers from Victorian times although John Derbyshire made some figurines in opaque blue which we have. Does anyone else have blue items similar to these from Manchester?
I think Burtles Tate made a blue hand for rings as well. Cheers Mike

These never returned with me from the fair as the mentioned expert was a collector of Manchester glass and didn’t give anyone else a chance.... hopefully more info may follow? The name Thomas Kidd was thrown in the mix?
Cheers Mike
