Somehow they tell me my items don't fit in their auctions.

What that can mean is simply that the expected sale price would not be enough to provide them with a good enough profit.

I suppose it could be that some of the lower priced items are being consigned for sale as part of a much larger group of items, so that is why it can sometimes look as though they take other pieces in that price bracket.  They might take them as 'add ons' i.e part of group of pieces that will garner the auction house large amount of commission from someone who is also selling ultra expensive pieces?

I have sold through a high end auction house - but yes, I had to ship and it had to be perfect and I didn't know in that instance, until they told me who made it ( I had a good idea but actually it was much rarer than I'd even thought) how much I would get for it.  A lot of the money went on commission, high end photographs and catalogue listing etc. although I made an excellent return for the piece having bought it for £20.  But that is the only time.  I have one more piece that I should do the same for but can't bear to part with at the moment.  But that is it.  The others although some great pieces, would not be worth it.

It could be the expected sale price indeed.
I do see that prices have dropped since the last 5-10 years.
I always thought it would pretty much still have the same value.
Maybe it's not. Hoping it'll come back one day.
And till that day I'll try to buy as much as financially possible

And it's true that many items have been sold as a combined lot,
but I don't think of it as 'add ons' because there are quite astonishing pieces amongst it.

(If not I'll remove it).  But it's items like this that just don't make a sell.

This is a stunning set of 3 art glass pieces, made by the Romanian glassblower
"Tubi Vasile Vadan".  It's fused glass with iridiscent copper/bronze.
To me this is quite exclusive. What do you guys think about this for an example?
Still has a few days to go. But no bids yet.

I don't have an opinion on those because my interest is from 1800 to about 1850 Bohemian mainly but some French glass, so they are way outside of my experience and knowledge   (Not that I have very much knowledge of 1800-1850 glass either, but still better than any from other periods)
