Antique Milk Glass Powder Bowl, Hinged Lid
« on: May 20, 2019, 09:07:42 PM »
Quite a charming vanity or powder bowl with brass (or brass-tone) fittings and three footed base. The glass has a matt finish to the exterior and shiny surface to the interior. The scrolls and leaf decoration are hand-painted but the depiction of the girl and boy watching a spinning top on the lid surface looks to be a transfer print. No marks that I can see.  Diameter 9.5cm, height 8.5cm. Would I be anywhere near correct to guess Bohemian or French origin, and late nineteenth century?
