Not a clue what this bowl is.
« on: May 31, 2019, 08:08:49 PM »

I bought this at a second hand shop a couple of weeks ago. The diameter of the bowl is 14cm and it is 10,5 cm high. I have no clue what it is.

Hello and welcome.

Could we see a photo of the inside of the bowl please? Is the rim folded over.......I lose resolution trying to enlarge the photo so it's too blurred to tell.

Nice piece!

Thanks for those.  The foot shape reminds me of Venini pieces......might be somewhere to start.

I think I have another clue.  I was on the brilliant 20thcenturyglass website and, while I was coveting most of the glass on their homepage photograph, I noticed a piece that looks very close to yours.  It's four pieces from the right in the front.  You may well be able to find it on their site, or ask on their Facebook page and I am sure they would let you know.

Look forward to hearing what it is!

Wow you're good. I visited that site yesterday (bought a couple of Gulvvases lookalikes (think they are Empoli). I didn't notice that one!

Gulvases were made under license from Bauer by an English company called Cascade, but not in too many colours.
Recently, similar shapes of bottles have been coming from Japan. These are often a bit "wonky". ;D

The ones I have are lime (or apple, I'm a man, it's just green to me) They have a really thick clear base (about 2 cm).  I noticed that the Holmegaard ones don't have that. Ah well, they were 4 euro's a piece. That's not expensive for some education.

I couldn't find the bowl  on their site. I've sent them a message for more information. The search continues!
