Large 12inch Vaseline Decanter any ideas?
« on: June 24, 2019, 11:53:44 AM »
I thought this was unusual and should share this uv monster. I’ve not found anything similar and would be grateful for any help or pointers in the right direction to identify it.
Cheers Mike

Just a thought but from the shape and the volume it will take it could be a cruet bottle possibly from a set. do you think the stopper is original?

My thoughts were that it could be a scent bottle ???  There are some really tall scent bottles on the web.
I've got a few assorted scent bottles, not all of which have a long dipper thing.

Thanks for looking, funnily enough I looked to see if it had engraved numbers after reading some old posts on here last night because I was sure the stopper doesn’t look like it matches. Well what a surprise both the stopper and bottle have tiny matching engraved 22 on them. The stopper is blown and hollow. It holds a pint and a quarter. For size the little one is a Boston And sandwich scent bottle with matching number 17. I bought them both together so I wonder if the large one is also American.looking at the Pattern glass website they refer to quart bar decanters. So could be quarter of a gallon?  Cheers Mike

I also think it has a Czech Art Deco feel but need to do some more research.
