New, first question...any ideas on maker? country?....
« on: July 18, 2019, 10:27:17 AM »
Hi, sorry for my english, i'm just a young french collector and it's my first post.

A large transparent glass vase, with application of coloured green tears; probably of Italian origin...
What do you think, members? High: 40 cm
I’ll try to put the pictures in the suite....

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi and Welcome!  :)
It is a very unusual vase indeed. I would think it is quite recent.
The bottoms of the green leaves seem to be under an applied layer of glass around the base - as if they are growing up from it!
If you put flowers in it - you'd have the "foliage around the bottom" in place, outside the vase and helping to hide the stems.
Sorry I can't help you more. This is a very intriguing piece.   8)

It looks well-made. The clear parts of the glass are balanced and nicely finished off, and the surface decoration is hand done.
I'd agree with you about approximate date.
I'm just sorry I can't help more. There is no maker I can think of who produces this sort of thing.
And I'm very sorry I can't speak French.
"british" education is not helpful for that. I'm too embarrassed to even try. :-[
