Pressed glass art deco vase
« on: September 04, 2019, 08:48:42 AM »
I bought this vase in Belgium. Looking forward to hear more about the country were it was made, the maker and model name.
My research led to nothing.

hello Marc  -  will be of great help if you will advise where you have been 'researching' so far  -  might save us a lot of unnecessary looking - have you for example tried Pamela Wessendorf's pressed glass reference 'museum' web site? :)

thanks Marc  -  couldn't you just die for some of that 1930s French opalescent stuff  -  in fact I wasn't aware of that site.

Art deco is a style  -  not necessary that the glass itself was made between the two world wars  -  it's all apparently to do with the type of design, though of course something made in 1930 is preferable to something made last year.          Does your vase do it for me?? -  sure, it's geometric, but for me it lacks that sharp avant garde something that makes you take a second look.         Perhaps it's a tad unadventurous ;)

Apologies for the personal input - glass is all things to all people.                Fingers crossed that you find an id. :)

I agree, it also doesn't have the quality of Val saint lambert for instance. Could be a later make
