Topic: Czech Bohemian Glass Wine Goblets

These wine glasses/goblets have label stickers on foot; however, I'm always confused about identifying when a particular Czech Bohemian Glass was made. The gold decoration appears to be etched? embossed? onto the glass with fine needle point variations.

7" H - Bowl 3" W at widest point. Wgt. 8 ounces.

Would like to know the timeframe/years the glasses may have been produced and if there's a better description for them than above. Label stickers show "Bohemian Crystal, Made in Czechoslovakia."

Your label appears to match the one shown here https://www.yobunny.org.uk/glassgallery/displayimage.php?pos=-13677 which according to the late Marcus Newhall is "A Glassexport label as used during the 1960s and 1970s."

I think you could find lots of identical ones in red glass.  Blue was less common.+

To further confirm the date period suggested above, the country identification on the label is Czechoslovakia which would put the latest date to 1992 and earliest 1945. However, given the style - especially the shade of blue and gold enamel - the date 1960s/70s seems most reasonable. Although I can't see the sticker, its format appears very suggestive of that era.

As an aside, I do not think that these are wine goblets given the long stem and constrained bowl. however, I would not be dogmatic on that point.

These used to be Known as Hock Glasses.  I have a set of 6 in blue glass (see photo - that are what yours will be made of by the way.).  I also have a set of 6 Stuart Crystal From the late 80s - clear crystal but similar design (see a second photo).  The third photo is an engraved Bohemia Crystal Hock.
