Colorful swirl vase - please help to ID my thrift store find
« on: December 29, 2019, 03:49:15 AM »
Hi,

I recently bought this vase at a thrift store for $15. It does not have any identification marks. It has quite a few bubbles and the top is uneven. However, the bottom is very straight (as if it was polished or cut). The vase is about 15 inches tall (38 cm). I am thinking something Italian, maybe Italian Opalina?

Any thoughts on the make, country of origin and age would be greatly appreciated!

Hello
If you mean opaline florentin... No, it is not. Murano or Italien, yes that is quite realistic. Opaline or opalina Florentine is different in shape and pattern.

Hello and welcome.  :)
I rather suspect this is contemporary Chinese glass. Very large and heavy, with lots of uneven bits and bright colours.
It is rather attractive. :)
