Wondered if this might be a powell glass as i don't have any books its difficult with
the powell patterns however i have spotted a similar glass online described as an
Arts & Crafts James Powell flower head glass the engraving was the same as my glass
on a different form any ideas?? The glass is paper thin and seems a real skilled piece
of  workmanship would love to be proved right About 12.3 cm tall..

I've just looked through the small and larger books, but wasn't aware of definitely seeing anything with this flower head design of wheel engraving,
but that's not to say it isn't from the Powell's, and John is better informed as to their output so might have the answer.              The Company did produce a lot of art nouveau/arts and crafts style designs during the 1890s, often on thin clear glass, and it would be very interesting to know the source of the provenance/attribution the online seller has for connecting their glass with Powell's.       
This one does have the Webb/arts and crafts/Powell appearance of thinness etc., but we need a source of genuine provenance to feel safe in attributing to you know who.   

You might try the V. & A. on line archive  -  believe it's possible to access their collections on the screen.

Hi Dan, have you considered asking the seller on etsy? As they still have one to sell, they may answer a question about attribution.  Have you seen any Powell pieces with similar stems to yours?  I can't recall seeing any, but I've mostly been looking at the Venetian glass recently.  Be interesting to find an answer on this one!

my opinion would be that the stem construction isn't the real problem  -  in the main art nouveau/arts and crafts period 1880 to 1915, Powell's produced shed loads of this delicate looking glass with a vast array of stem variations  -  ball and blade knops, cushions etc., a lot of which is now unavailable for public view.           Powell's made a variety of goblet shapes  -  some very plain as in the Philip Webb designs, and others quite the opposite and knee deep in Venetian influence.                 This goblet has an appearance that doesn't seem to be copying an historic piece, as in the Company's Woodchester series, or perhaps plain enough to be from Philip Webb.   

IMHO the wheel engraving here is simplistic to a point that it's neither one thing or the other, and doesn't match the quality of engraving seen on many of Powell's glass from this period.

Anyway good shout cat, hope we might discover the origin of the etsy provenance  -  hope I don't have to east my words
