Glasshouse Studio Glass help to ID artist please.
« on: February 09, 2020, 06:34:57 PM »
I have had this Glasshouse studio item for a number of years. I cannot remember posting it on the GMB but may be wrong.
Iridescent glass with lily pads.

Help please to ID the artist please.
Measures 6.5" in diameter and weighs 700gm.
Large pressed G to center of base and signed GLASSHOUSE 1992 FH2217 . There is also an etched signature higher on side of the piece.

Hi Roy, is this the same piece you posted here in 2007? https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,13435.0.html

The dates and the signatures look different, Anne.  :)
The sigs might just be upside down, but 88 is not 92. ;D

Fleur Tookey's signature is clear and easy to read.

I've got a chart of the Glasshouse artist timeline in front of me, but am not really sure where to start, so have chosen '86. (It's not an easy thing to read.)
I can add earlier names if required later.

Bob Crookes '86
Helena Blom '87
Janusz Posniak '87 (wasn't he in "Blown Away" recently?)
Helena Kaiser '87
Misako Handa '87
Ben Duningham '89
Rob Marshall '90
Helen Millard '90
Marius Chalkadakis '91
James Watts '91
Harvey Mears '92

Thanks Anne and Sue.

No its not the same piece, although I had forgotten that piece . But it did jog my mind that the item was Glasshouse Seattle USA and not the London Glasshouse.
I think I must of had the 2nd one for the best part of 10 years. So it was helpful the link to my original post.

Thanks Roy

The style is more American Glasshouse more than English Glasshouse, isn't it?

Roy, does adding some talc help bring up the signature?   Maybe the signature being on the body does point to American.

Yes I agree with the large pressed G and the way its signed it is American Glasshouse and done in the Tiffany style. I will try and add a better pic of the signature on the side later.

Thanks Roy
