Topic: Mystery Stuart Glass Pattern

Good morning all..
After hours of trolling the internet including pattern books suggested here and ebays records I am still unable to find this pattern. Before I give up I thought I would see if anyone here might just have the answer.  While the cut is very similar to Bleneim (with the additional X inside the lower row of diamonds) Blenheim does not have the circles around the rim area, equally Catherine, which does have the circles just has plain diamonds.
(Hope im not over complicating my explaination)
The glass feels exceptionally heavy for Stuart and the mark appears to be late production.  I did find just one reference on a replacement site but they had no pattern name only a reference number!  Did some patterns not get a name ?
Any thoughts suggestions or better still answers woudl be much appreciated

Unfortunately, many pattern remained without a name  -  no idea on this one, but just a thought - how about 'Windsor'?             Assume you've tried Replacements dot com.

It is true that some patterns did have embellishments, additional to the basic pattern  -  possibly depending on the size of the item  -  the bigger it is then presumably the more you can squeeze onto the glass.

Thanks for tthe reply.  Yes the drawing with a ref no but no pattern name was from the replacements dot com site.
Not quite sure what you meant about 'Windsor' as a name (there is already a Windsor Gold) hopefully your not suggesting
we go down the US route of inventing pattern names that never existed

I had a brief look on said web site, and thought I'd seen a pattern called 'Windsor' that looked similar   -    and no, I'd never suggest personal invention (or should that be intervention)      …………..   there are already too many differences of opinion when looking at both sides of the pond  -  only joking folks.
Presumably you've looked at the GMB archive for Stuart patterns?

Yes Ive searched every palce suggested and even been through the earlier pattern books even though the mark dates it later, in the hope it may have been a revived pattern, but to no avail.  I guess I'll either keep looking or just accept maybe this didnt have a pattern name. Strange about the weight though, I have other Stuart glasses of comparable size and this is decidedly heaver, almost like a Waterford weight, I wonder if it was produced after Waterford took them over for a brief period  before dumping yet another great company!!   Pleased you appreciated my tongue in cheek comment about the naming of patterns.

Going back to your previous comment Paul, if the embelishment of known patterns with addtional cutting is known to have happened then Id happily accept that this is Blenheim with the embelishment of a row of cut circles above.

Unless proven to the contrary, then I don't think that's an unreasonable assumption that yours are Blenheim  -  I forgot now where I'd seen designs that had some discreet extra decoration.             On small drinking glasses there's little space for anything other than the basic design, but for bigger stuff I know there have been instances of slight variation, which can be confusing.
The important part of the design is that which occurs on the main body, so think you will be o.k. with Blenheim.
