Could it be a lamp base?

Hi Cat :) I didn't think of that it is a little narrow
but wouldn't it need to be threaded on the opening
just thinking aloud i have looked around Ikea?
Have noticed some Seguso pieces with added bronze
I really find the Scavo glass difficult to get my head round ???
Dan

This is an image of scavo - also called corroso.

When Chuggy found this, there was unforgettable excitement here, many years ago.
;) I think he retired shortly after, but I don't know quite how much the hippo contributed.

I'm afraid, Dan, that I think you have something a little bit more on the side of contemporary decorative stuff, from homeware stores here.  ???

It was. I don't know why I couldn't find the thread the images were in.
It was a "wild find", so the excitement was something else.  ;D

But hopefully, it is a good enough image of "the real thing" for you to see what scavo/corroso does look like, and you can imagine how it would feel.
There isn't a white-ish anything on the surface - that's just the light reflecting. :)
