Topic: Vaseline piano insulator of three faces gargoyle or Chinese dragon

Had a great delivery the other day. I thought this may have been a Derbyshire bulls head ( as Photo was not clear) but to my surprise it looks like a gargoyle of Chinese dragon as it has a tongue hanging out of the front. I hope to include some links to some similar pieces a Percival Vickers Ram with 3 faces but no base stamp and a link the Derbyshire bulks head which I understand does have a daisy vase stamp 3 faces and also a pattern between the faces.
This has 3 faces with a clam shell pattern in between. I’ve never seen anything else like this before any help would be great.

Hi Sue, yes I'm well chuffed. Please can you elaborate on "dragon whislers too." thanks.

In my first post my mispelling should have said "daisy base stamp" which the John derbyshire "bulls head" and this both have. ( a lot of these have a daisy base stamp)
The ram and I believe the devil in the link above both appear not to have the daisy stamp.
Neil and a chap from the Glass society are not aware of this design so it looks pretty rare.
George Davidson also made them with different faces on, but I've only seen one face on them not three.

It was so grubby I thought it was a custard colour but after several solutions it’s come out in the canary
Vaseline appearance.

It's getting better and better, canary is a glorious colour.
They have proper bushy dragon eyebrows too.
You do find correct dragon details on pieces of cloisonne. If only I could remember all of them. 
From the horns to the hair and numbers of toes, and whether or not there is a fork in the tail or spikes along the back of it (or is it if there is a hairy tassle on the tail?)
You definitely have dragons.

Found out the decoration is dolphins or Gurnards and alternating sea shells. The lamp base is a registered design, unusually as it’s a lamp it’s class 1 for metal not class 3 dates 29th May 1872 but I’ve not managed to find it in the national archives. Contenders are All from Manchester, Derbyshire brothers, Burtles & Tate or possibly Ker and Webb, any help identifying the registration would be gratefully received thanks Mike

Thanks Sue not unless is a catfish .  Some of the pressed glass around 1870 was very neo classical just need to find out who was baking this kind of thing but there’s very few examples or info to go on, but I’m pleased the two match each other. Cheers Mike

It might be the angle of the pics, but do the blue dolphins not have turned up round snouts, while your canary dragon has a block ended one?
All gorgeous, but I don't think they're quite the same beast.
