Green Glass Flagons/Bottles.
« on: April 18, 2020, 10:27:59 AM »
I would appreciate anyone's opinions on these bottles as I'm undecided. They have some age as there is a lot of wear on the bottoms but how old are they? One appears to have a sheared pontil and the other a snapped one. They are both full of thousands of bubbles, both large and small but are fairly well made. Finally they do fluoresce under UV but I think this is due to Manganese in the glass although it wouldn't surprise me if there were some Uranium in them. Manganese was put in glass to remove the green colour produced by Iron Oxide in the sand but as they are green this doesn't seem logical.
