Help Identify Heavy Faceted Amber vase. Josef Hoffmann?
« on: June 04, 2020, 01:06:50 PM »
Hello. I have a beautiful heavy dark amber faceted glass vase that I was wondering if anyone can help with. It is 19cm high x 10 cm wide and is hand made. There are quite a few imperfections in this like black spots, bubbles and a whiteish patch of bubbles near the rim. It is really heavy like lead crystal. It has a ground and polished pontil and no makers mark. The colour is something I have never quite seen before. Almost jewel like. The nearest I found with my research was Bohemiam glass and the name Joseph Hoffmann. I thought this vase was different though and could be more special than Hoffmanns work. Any help would be appreciated.
