Topic: Amethyst Cut to clear Hock Wine Glass Maybe Art-Deco??? :)

Picked up a couple of these today first time back in a CHARITY SHOP
Felt great wondering if any one can help regarding age or where it might
have come from originally, Seem's good quality cutting unusual the edge of
the foot is gold gilded or similar and an unusual cut on the bottom to. Has a
really nice weight to it also quite thick casing on the color. Measures 8.5" tall

I really don't think it's St Louis, but possibly something German in a similar vein.
I've found the odd, rather attractive hock glass, in a very similar sort of style. There's a lot of work on it.
But it's flashed green, not amethyst.

I'm not sure we found an origin. But this is a class of glass, it does belong with others I've found (sorry I don't have them any more). They're similar to St Louis, perhaps not quite the same massively superior quality, they're still quite excellent.

Don't get your hopes up but it reminds me of some Baccarat glasses I've seen somewhere, can't remember where

I think it's possible Val St Lambert did this pattern.
However, I don't know if the green is right, and I'm not great on VSL stuff.  Hopefully Anne might pop by and spot it and be able to help more.

Here is a set apparently by VSL with a similar pattern in the bowl and a teardrop stem.

Your glass is quite distinctive in terms of the star cut foot, the notched stem and the teardrop enclosure in the stem so hopefully you may get a definite id

  Thank you for your great replies i had considered Vsl myself but discounted it as i have only owned Dark Green this seems to fit as Emerald green in my eye.

I have so far found a couple of examples which have the same star cut foot with the same gold gilding to the edge so my temp's are rising a little as i love Vsl glass especially the Deco period. Joseph Simon design's are understandably expensive which is not something i generally attribute to many glass pieces.
