Is this the remains of a Webb signature?
« on: August 01, 2020, 06:13:53 AM »
Hi all.  I hope you're all avoiding the plague like ... well, the plague.

I picked this little thing up today and, going by the colour (plus a nice green glow under UV), I'm happy to call it a likely Webb.

What interests me is some marks on the pontil.  Can I get a second and subsequent opinion from you - is this the traces of a Webb signature'?  I'm quite prepared for you to tell me I'm dreaming, but if I squint I can discern a possible 'W' from two different directions, both of which I've attached for your edification.

What do you think?

I'd say probably not, Webb Burmese, when marked, is a circular mark, impressed I think, another picture showing the whole of the base might help  ;D ;D
