Anybody know what this is?

All rude suggestions already made  ;)

It stands 16 cm tall and 7.5 cm in diameter at the mouth.  It is hand-blown with a polished out pontil mark at the top.  It's hollow and has a ground neck so probably had a matching piece of glass which inserted into it.  It's reasonably heavy, weighing 240 g.  Some piece of pharmacy equipment maybe?

It looks a bit like one of the glass domes used for applying leeches, I'm pretty sure it's medical.
