Fratelli Toso? Handkercheif Vase
« on: October 15, 2020, 02:47:52 PM »
Hello, I've been trying to research this vas...I've found 2 the same on eBay which, say it's a Fratelli Toso piece, but I've found nothing else to confirm this. Would you say this is a correct ID?

Here are the listings I found
https://www.ebay.com/itm/203080427072
https://www.ebay.com/itm/264473502925

Thank you!

I can't tell you who did make it but Fratelli Toso is so unlikely I find it difficult to be polite about the claim. The only reason MCM has been added to Fratelli Toso must surely be to obfuscate, confuse and deceive.

John

Thanks John, I'm quite new to learning about glass but it did seem unlikely even to me. It does seem from the more I look, "Murano" gets added and thrown about quite wildly on listings.

Murano seems very unlikely: the matte ground base, uneven stripes and slightly yellow glass all point elsewhere
