Vistosi or more recent incarnation? Emerald bowl
« on: October 29, 2020, 09:19:20 PM »
Calling Pinkspoons or anyone else with knowledge of these type of pieces ( not my era at all usually but I just loved this design and colour)

No other pics but the rim is cut and beautifully polished/finished. The rest of it is just rounded doughnut shaped as it were with the fried egg indent in the middle.

I'm aware that for example Marimekko have designed some recent pieces with a similar 'vibe' but can't think of where else to look in case it might be very contemporary:
https://www.marimekko.com/com_en/home/home-decor/vases

In the meantime, I had thought there might be a chance it might have been by Vistosi?
Eleanore Peduzzi-Riva maybe or

Here a bowl similar clear glass (not sure if Vistosi ?)
https://www.catawiki.com/l/40956429-luciano-vistosi-murano-vase-glass

Blue stacking ashtray Vistosi:

Double walled bowl Vistosi:
https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/dining-entertaining/crystal-serveware/set-of-two-crystal-bowls-eleonore-peduzzi-riva-vistosi/id-f_18042511/

I also found a lidded box listed as by Vistosi that has a similar design:

Any help very much appreciated.  It's not signed but I think some of their pieces were labelled and not signed from what I've read and seen - open to correction.

m

I have not seen this Vistosi range before so no idea sorry, it is consistent though so I do see your logic. Could it be upside down in your photo then?

John

yes probably is but I like it that way as it shows the shape on the stand :)

more pics the right way up - sorry the lighting wasn't as good as I thought it was on these so they're a bit 'fuzzy'.  The rim is beautifully cut and polished.

It reminds me a fair bit of a Leerdam lidded biscuit pot I had. :)
This might be it. I don't have it any more. There was something a bit "special" about the shape of the lid.

Thank you Sue.  Bizarrely I've been searching Leerdam looking for some glasses for my son  (ended up with new Riedel but there you go)
I'll have a good search now for green things from Leerdam :)

Thank you John.  Yes I can see there are similarities. I don't think the bowl is from Leerdam  - gut instinct or whatever, but that said  I will keep searching just in case there's a link with the designer angle or something.

Thanks John, that is a better pic.
m, I know you like to search every tiny possibility and learn along the way, so I don't feel too bad about having brought this up. It was a rather remote suggestion. ;)

Definitely and that colour and the way it's made is very similar.  I am researching as we speak Sue :)  absolutely it was worth putting it on.  I love something new to read about and I've only just started looking into Leerdam again recently so perfect timing.

Thank you for the lead but nothing has come up for Leerdam.

Something for future reference, these vases with a slightly similar vibe (and in a similar shade of green hence I checked them out) came up on my search at the Conran Shop.
I don't think they're linked to my bowl at all but thought they were interesting :)

Multi coloured range described as:
'This enchanting mouth-blown Raawii Relæ Glass Bowl is crafted in Portugal and conceived by the designer behind the popular Raawii Strøm collection, Nicholai Wiig-Hansen.'
