Green Bubble Glass Vase
« on: October 29, 2020, 11:06:06 PM »
Hi everyone!
Newbie to these forums and glass collecting in general.
If you would be so kind as to help me out with an ID. of this glass Vase that I recently bought in an auction lot, I would be ever so grateful. Thank you.
The vase is very heavy,  around 8 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter.
At first I thought that it could be Whitefriars but I can't find any similar patterns out there to compare it to.
Thank you in anticipation of your kind help.
Stu

Definitely not Whitefriars.  :)

Could you provide additional shots, including one of the base?

No problem. Thanks for confirming it isn't Whitefriars. I didn't think that it was because of the pattern of bubbles.

Well thanks anyway for trying. Let's hope someone out there can help me out!
FYI for anyone looking at this,  this vase was bought at auction here in the UK.
Cheers

FYI for anyone looking at this for me,  aside from the fact that the vase was purchased at auction here in the UK, I wanted to describe the colour to you.
I would describe as a kinda crisp, but smokey grey/green.
Sorry the colour doesn't translate on the forum pictures. Think that's due to the low resolution and restriction on file size we're allowed to upload.
I will try once more to take a good picture of the vase with a white background. Hopefully that will show the bubble pattern  and colour much better. I kinda realised that having my kitchen as the background to the pictures, really wasn't the best choice!
Cheers for any help that any kind soul can afford us. This thing is driving me bonkers! I wish Andy McConnell was a member on here! He would identify it in a trice!
Love that man! Such knowledge and boundless enthusiasm for all things glass!
Let's hope that the global pandemic burns itself out before next Summer & I'm lucky enough that The ARS comes to a stately home near us,  so I can go meet Andy McConnell!

Please also consider images using a plain dark background placed inside the item, which will permit the pattern to be seen without the rest of the piece showing. A few photos with that technique could show a sequenced view of the full pattern.

Mark Hill sometimes pops in, but not often. Professional appraisers don't give away their knowledge, it would do them out of their jobs.  :)
But we don't give up, here.  ;D

Thanks for advice Kevin! I'd have never thought of that for accentuating purposes, but makes perfect sense. I will try dig out something that will serve that purpose and take some more pictures!
And thanks too chopin-liszt. I got a smile out of your message thinking how true.... how very true! Cheers 🍻

Here's the white background first anyway, as I'd already taken these before your suggestion Kevin. I'll share the dark background ones as soon as I'm able.
