Topic: Is this vase an example of the Pulegoso technique

A Pulegoso has frothy air bubbles.  From the photo, it looks like this vase qualifies.

i know this a super old post and you've most probably got your answer already but i have been doing a lot of research on pulegoso lately and from your picture i would say it is as well.

Thanks for the reply, the vase is one of my favorites. It sits on my landing and catches the sunlight.

Do you have any suggestions on possible makers or dates?

Venini (Scarpa and Martinuzzi) made a lot of pulegoso as did Seguso. i can't always tell the difference but seems that the color(s) used, pontil vs. polished base and the density of the bubbles are all clues - unless you've got a signature, acid etched or otherwise i'd guess that it was produced by one of these two glass houses, though i wouldn't venture a guess as to the artist.

i suppose that there were other makers that could have made it as well but i don't know much else. maybe someone with more knowledge will come along and help us both learn a bit more

i forgot to mention that i've also seen more than a few pulegoso pieces attributed to Alfredo Barbini and Dino Martins but, if i HAD to GUESS about your vase i'd probably go with Seguso

I was thinking maybe AVeM. They did some pulegoso pieces in this color.

BTW, I think Seguso did some pulegoso in this color, so Seguso is also a very good company to consider.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have had another look and the pontil is of the snap off type and has not been polished. The bubbles are very tiny and numerous, plus the outside of the vase has a very attractive iridescent sheen.
