Offer of Ray Slack's remaining archive material - FOR FREE.
« on: December 04, 2020, 02:19:31 PM »
I had a phone call couple of nights back from Ray Slack offering, for free, his remaining archive of paperwork relating to research on all aspect of glass.       I've not seen the material in question, but apparently it is substantial in quantity and presently resides on two pallets in his garage  - can't be certain, but I doubt that it would fit into a standard car, and might require a van to move in one go.    Ray's original archive, when complete, filled four walls of a medium size room, and was taken by a dealer on the promise of sale or return, though sadly what materialized was less than acceptable to Ray, though unfortunately it seems all the hardback books and valuable items have now gone.     Absolutely free was Ray's comment to me, and hopefully it might appeal to one of the members here, provided collection can be arranged.               Regret I know nothing more than the basic details I've mentioned.
Let me know by pm if of interest and I can then advise contact details for Ray - phone and address etc. - and any prospective buyer can then discuss with him.              cheers.

I have a feeling Nigel Benson may well be interested, if anybody knows how to contact him.
There are contact details on his website, but they're updated to systems I can't use.

Frank Andrews might well be interested too.

I have been trying to track you down since last November, Nigel - I can't work the big blue box
on your website. Would you pm me, pretty please?  :)
