Bagley Carnival Uranium Butter? Dish
« on: December 05, 2020, 01:56:37 PM »
I'm posting this as I can't find any other posts about it. It is Bagley Carnival but doesn't have the 849118 Rd number, and I think it's a butter dish although Angela Bowey has a blue one in her book described as a cheese dish. In the second photo I've shown the notch in the lid which is part of the manufacture and not a chip and is perhaps a breather hole. Although the 849118 suite wasn't registered until 1946 I'm wondering if it was produced from the late 1930's, considering the quantity that is still about and the fact that, I think, Bagley had their stocks of Uranium Oxide confiscated in 1946.

After looking at the wedge shape and a rethink, it's a cheese dish, though not a very big one.

It's cheese dish. They come in marked and unmarked uranium, and notably different weights too I've found
