Can anyone tell me if this is Heron Glass please?
« on: December 10, 2020, 07:39:15 PM »
I thought this might be Heron glass but I can't find anything with a similar rim and the Heron glass I have had in the pass is much thinner. Any help much appreciated.

Would agree with Keith, even though the shape is a little unusual for Heron I think the finish is absolutely spot on. This big pink bowl was pretty chunky, especially towards the base. Had forgotten about the purple vase, maybe another shape that is not seen so often.

A green example of that big bowl on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/327777679108376068/

I think it looks very much like Heron. I have a golden yellow Heron bowl and it's seriously thick and chunky http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,37791.0.html.

IOW Glass Museum purchased a Heron Glass catalogue a couple of weeks ago for our library. It's undated, but we believe it was published about 2002. There are 28 pages (14 loose leafs) in a binder.

Both the pink footed bowl and the amethyst footed vase are included. The bowl is said to be 14.5 cm high and 24 cm in diameter. The vase is said to be 30.5 cm high.

Here is the catalogue. It's very nicely produced in full colour on thick glossy paper. Whether the catalogue is complete is unknown since the pages are secured in a binder. However, it does seem complete based on the dimensions of the cover; there doesn't seem any pages missing and it's not bulging out with extra added pages.
