Unusual Glass Candle holder (Thomas Webb?)
« on: December 13, 2020, 01:03:24 PM »
It has been suggested to me that this piece might have been made by Thomas Webb, any thoughts from the forum as to maker or age?
The candle holder is 5 inches tall x 5 inches max-width sporting a snapped pontil to the base.
The Clear Base has quite a lot of infused Gold particles within it as I have tried to show on the last picture in particular
All thoughts welcome.

Yes I have to admit Murano did cross my mind but thought I would try here first, thanks for your thoughts

Try Salviati, they used gold flecks and also made flower buds.

Another in white, always thought Murano but never got further than that. Maybe 1960s or later, pretty sure it was not antique Murano anyway.

After a lot more research, I am finding Salviatti the most likely maker of this particular candle holder.
Thank you to all members who helped me with this I really appreciate your time.  :)

Hi Harold, in your research did you find any examples with a label or other ID assistance?

Another example but with different design, this one though is marked. Three line Venini acid etched mark, believe this helps roughly date this to the 50s or 60s. Not much help for Harold but does indicate Murano very likely.
