Topic: Edward Bolton Pearline Grace Darling Boat.

I thought I'd post this design as it hasn't been mentioned for a while. It has Grace Darling written across the stern viewable from the outside, and inside the Rd.No.23527. I couldn't find this number anywhere but from previous posts apparently it's the Rd.No. for the name of the piece. The number for the actual design is 39414 which was registered by Edward Bolton on 11/12/1885. The other number was registered on 11/3/1885. Some pieces have both numbers.

Thanks Sue, it was fairly expensive. I don't know what it's worth but I had to buy it, they don't turn up very often in pearline. It's in perfect condition too  , just a few mould marks.

I know plain clear ones without the name can be quite expensive. I know these are a rather desirable bit of pressed glass. A cut above most others.
Finding a pearline one is amazing. I've never seen one before. I am really impressed. Although it was expensive, I would think it was probably justified. Pearline is the bee's knees and the cat's pyjamas.

Thanks again Sue, I see the clear ones actually sell quite cheaply sometimes, I can't find another Pearline one for sale anywhere to compare the price. I think they made several sizes, this is the 11" version. The makers surname is an added bonus  .

I think I have seen a yellow 7” one.
The clear flint ones also comes in at 13” plus there are also large canoe versions but I’ve never seen that in yellow.

Thanks thewingedsphinx, when researching I found it was apparently inspired by a celery vase by the American firm Hobbs Brockunier. This site shows some of their pieces.           https://www.eapgs.net/
