Iridescent glass plates - Green / Blue ID Help Please
« on: January 29, 2021, 10:50:07 AM »
Hello, I've researched a bit and found similar things by Loetz and Tiffany Favrile, but not sure on their ID. They both have residue from a small retangular sticker on the back and a snapped pontil. Any ideas would be great :)

It's difficult to see the exact finish from the photos, but they may be by Salviati, Murano who made similar plates with a copper aventurine or gold fleck finish.

Hi Nevb - that's interesting they came in the same auction lot as this https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,70399.0.html and John mentioned that might be Salviati. Will upload pics to hopefully show the colour better. Thank you for your suggestion I'll have a look into it :)

It looks a bit like the sort of "stretched" irridesence that can be found. I'm sure we have a fairly long thread about it somewhere...

Ah they're lovely NevB! The gold to them is much fancier than mine!

Thanks Sue, I think you're right. I've come across that when researching and saw a lot of similarities - will have a look for the thread.
