Hello,  I was given these cases sometime ago.  I recently took them to a local auction house for assessment and was told Venetian Handkerchief vases, value £20 to £40.  This is not what I was told by the person who gave them to me, he told me Thomas Webb - what do you think?

Can we see a very good clear bright close photograph of the gilding please?  including a clear one of the gilded rose.

In my opinion that's Jules Barbe gilding on a Thomas Webb Filamentosa vase.
Vase example here.  Re the gilding, I can only tell you what I've researched and I would say that is Jules Barbe gilding in my humble opinion.

You're welcome.

They are rather beautiful.  I love the colours.  Is it  your photographs or are they purple streaks?  The ones I have seen have been browny colour.

Beautiful. It makes you wonder if the auction house has ever seen any sort of handkerchief vase, or even a handkerchief!

It is sometimes the owner of the item that insists on a particular description...

;D Perhaps we should make it crystal clear - that these very attractive posy vases are absolutely not handkerchief vases.
