Help Needed - Hollow Gravy Boat
« on: April 09, 2021, 11:55:41 AM »
Hi all....hope you can help me get out of a pickle!  I broke this and my wife is furious....It is a gravy boat.  You put hot water into the open end and there is a cork that seals it and then you put the gravy in the indented part of the vessel.  The water keeps it warm.  We bought it in Colo Spgs CO 20 years ago and I cannot find another one to save my life.  I know it came from Czech and it was made by a company that makes lab-ware.  I have googled and contacted every cooking store/cookware store in the world and nobody has one.  Surely there is one out there somewhere.  Help me get out of the dog house.

I found some paperwork and it is a Kavalier Simax Gravy Warmer.  US company went out of business.

I ended up getting one made/blown by a company in Germany who found s set of the original blueprints from the Cz company.  Need a new cork to finish it off.  Peace has been restored to our house  ;D.  Not a cheap solution ($175 with shipping to USA).

Result!

That is some dedication on your part. Doesn't seem all that expensive given the work involved.

Did you order extras in case of accidents?  :-X

John

John (at al):

LOL....very funny!   ;D

I am forbidden to touch, use or even look at the new gravy boat.  So unless my wife breaks it or a meteorite hits us, I don't think I need to worry about a spare one.
