Wedgewood glass oddity ?
« on: June 22, 2021, 05:59:56 PM »
This candle holder although unmarked on the base i think is part of the Helix range made by Wedgewood glass.
I can not see this colour or this shape online.
Does anyone know of a comprehensive Wedgewood catalogue or website?

Thanks Greg that's perfect. (i have added that to my favorites).
The oddity i thought, was the top of the holder was very shallow and would not hold a largish candle.
It does not look to have been cut down in a repair.
It will still take a smaller diameter candle and the top part seems to act as a sconce.
Thanks again,
Tim

 ;D
Greg got in first - he's always ahead of me.  ;)
I've just tracked this down. I knew I had it somewhere. I'd just lost the "where" bit. ;D
It was in Latin when I found it, but appears to have updated itself a little bit.

Scrolling through the Wedgewood site again tonight i came across a candle holder, Cromer RSW16 which holds a
two and a half inch diameter ball candle.
I had never thought of a ball candle before but it would fit nicely in the top of my topaz helix candle holder.
Maybe the answer?
Thanks for your input,
Tim

Two more in a white opaque glass (no hint of opalescence) and also unmarked. I expect another maker rather than Wedgwood.

Nice items John.
They look identical to the Wedgewood ones.
Have just had a look at the Wedgewood animal figures that were made in opaque white.
Maybe those were made as a trial using the white glass .
Only a thought.
