Vraag om hulp
« on: June 28, 2021, 02:16:41 PM »

Alvast bedankt
Bloem

Hi, I'm a newcomer here, so I hope I'm doing it right. Recently I bought a few crystal glasses at a flea market. The seller said it is from Kristalunie Maastricht. Contacted them and they said that the glasses are absolutely not from Kristalunie Maastricht. They suspect it is from Bohemia. Glasses are engraved/cut with forest/hunting motifs. I couldn't find anything identical on the internet. Can someone help me with this to find out where and by whom it was made.

thanks in advance
Bloem

Hallo en welkom

I'm sorry my Dutch is only good enough to read your post but not good enough to reply  :)

Is it possible for you to post pictures of your item including a clear picture of the base please?
Hopefully we will be able to help you identify your glass from the photos.

We need to see the engraving as well please.  :)

Thank you

m

Hallo

Are there any marks on the base of the glass at all?  Any engraved initials?

Love the shape :)

That makes it more difficult of course.

I've searched through those I can think of but can find no matches even in other shapes - the match of the cut for example.
Is it definitely cut not mold blown?

My first thought would have been Riedel because of the engraving but I couldn't find anything searching.

It vaguely reminds me of Baccarat Massena with the cut stem design but the shape doesn't look French and the engraving would make me think Bohemian/Czech.  On the other hand the stem shape reminds me of Scandinavian glasses.  So no clear direction.

You could try searching through Replacements.com but that's a long shot.

Hey,
Thanks for the feedback. Following your information, I have been looking for Bakkarat massena glasses. I'd say I saw almost equivalent feet on multiple glasses. Is it enough reason to think it's a Bakkart? As for mold glass. Been looking too. Based on what I've seen, I have to say it's definitely not mold blown glass.
I will send a short video with the following email. Find interesting what you think.
Regards,
Flower
