Iridescent floriform-ish glass vase - Bohemian (Kralik?)
« on: July 05, 2021, 01:09:06 AM »
Please can someone help me identify this vase?

From the shape, and iridescent decor I'm guessing it's probably Bohemian.

It has a polished rim, clear glass body, and the decor and iridescence are applied to the outside of the body only. No visible mould lines.

Any ideas?

Is replying to yourself the first sign of madness? I'm now thinking Rindskopf Corrugated:

Does anyone know whether the shape is a known Rindskopf shape?

That is the only way to get any sense around here... :D

I think you have found it, reading between the lines it looks like it should have a texture of sorts, at least the surface should not feel completely smooth. Although I could not find that shape in another decor it does look consistent with the overall style of Rindskopf and the pattern and colours used are spot on for Corrugated.

LOL; thank you John :D

FWIW, yes, it has a somewhat rough texture - it's certainly not smooth. Does anyone know of any pattern books for Rindskopf's Art Nouveau production?

It's taken me a while to find it, (my own fault) but there is this website. There is a Rindskopf section.

Thanks Sue - unfortunately that link takes me to the main page of the Kralik site? Would it be possible for you to link the relevant page; if not, could you give me instructions as to how to find it?

FWIW I've already posted a link to Rindskopf Corrugated on that site:
http://kralik-glass.com/rcorrugatedarray.html

Was that the link you're were trying to post? Or have you found something specific about Rindskopf shapes?

That was it.  8)
But it is a lovely and very useful site. It's easy to find Rindskopf at the side, so I just posted the link to the whole thing. You never know when the other bits might come in handy.

Thanks Sue! Agreed; it's a great site, I just wish there were more sites like it! I'd love to get the shape confirmed as being known Rindskopf too...
