Ole Winther Viking Carafe
« on: July 28, 2021, 12:31:20 PM »
There are some previous posts on here about these carafes which were designed for Holmegaard in the mid 1950's by Ole Winther. Most of the ones I've seen have a Viking head which looks like a king's head with a crown. This one has the Viking head but with a "traditional" cow-horn helmet. Height is 22cm. diameter 20cm. and weight a hefty 1.6kg.

I've just found one that says the ones with the Vikingsegl (seal, not the animal  ;D ) were produced from 1962 but I don't know if this is correct.
