Tiny, cloudy green vase, French?
« on: August 16, 2021, 09:12:41 PM »
Hello all, new to this, been reading on here, first post. A tiny, cloudy green vase(not uranium), very cute, with gold gilt leaves, polished rim and base edge, only 7cm tall.

Any ideas? Similar to French glass, 1900s?

Many thanks

Si

Hi - welcome to the GMB.       I think I'd have reached for the torch too - it has that uranium appearance - however, you say it's not.         This heavy enameled outlining to the leaves is a tad reminiscent of either Czech. or Murano  -  charity shops occasionally throw up small pieces - not this colour - but with very thick enamel decoration - usually of flowers.        Not my area, but at least it might get people here to look in and be more informative with a country of origin.   fingers crossed.

The decoration is nice quality and looks like a hop plant so I would lean towards it being Bohemian/Czech, dare I say perhaps Moser, or another good maker.

The enamelling certainly looks Bohemian: the raised yellow is typical and would originally have been covered in gold (it's usually worn off)
