ID help Abstract Sculpture

I picked up this strange abstract sculpture about a year ago and I can't find anything like it. Clear glass with black paint? Ground pontil scar. Abstract nonsense. No signiture.

:) I can't help with identity, but I can tell you I once found a Royal Doulton bowl underneath a load of black paint.
It is possible the paint is a later, amateur addition.
