Murano Sommerso Dish
« on: December 03, 2021, 10:09:07 AM »
Assuming it is Murano, it's unusual in it's shape having just one upright piece, milk/lattimo glass covered by smoky grey then a thin layer of clear uranium. The only similar ones I've seen are called "swan" dishes with curled over tops and I can't find this colour combination. The base has been ground revealing the layers and resembles one of the geode bowls.

Just found this one in similar colours. The clear, scalloped rim and the turned over top hint at pieces I've seen attributed to Barbini, but nothing labelled to confirm this. Lots of age wear.
