Help please ID glass night light ? .
« on: January 01, 2022, 05:30:46 PM »
They look like some kind of night light, possibly for a child. I think they have some age but my wife thinks they were made last week.

Slightly iridised with metal rim and handle, detachable base for a tea light ?.
The green one is a little smaller.
Weight of green one 143gm and 203gm for red.

Height and diameter of glass 3.25"
Another use hang them on you Christmas tree.

Thanks Roy

They look as though they might be more recent i.e last twenty years or so, made in India table lights (also used for hanging perhaps?) for restaurant tables type thing.

Thank you both for your replies.

Well you cannot win them all . They were only from a charity shop where they will be heading back to.

Thanks Roy

I suppose they could be some form of Port and Starboard navigation lights for something?

I'm pretty sure I've seen these sorts of things about, my first thoughts  when seeing them in reality is that they are mass produced from India.
These two could be used for port and starboard indicators, but I do not think they were made for the purpose.;D

Garden lanterns I think, late 20th century, I seem to recall seeing these or similar in a catalogue of Nice Irma's, a shop in London in the 1990's, I may still have the catalogue somewhere on a bookshelf...

Roy - just discovered an old Apsley Pellatt (Falcon Glass Works) catalogue from 1829  -  seems these are one offs from that year, and seemingly known only from a b. & w. image in the illustrated guide to The Great Exhibition of 1851  -  apparently worth a king's ransom  ...............................................   oh, sh.... just notice you've given them away :'(

Paul I had a few more nice pieces from Reigate without leaving home , and I have been told we are expanding a little bit further north.
