Unusual Green Engraved Ball Vase Maybe Art-Deco???
« on: January 25, 2022, 03:46:33 PM »
Found this little vase in a shop recently it was a little stained and had some nibbles
but i could not leave it as it seemed quite interesting the design seems unusual similar
to Art Deco pieces i have seen in the past. The base has a polished base quite a lot of wear
from movement. The roundels are attached by lines and smaller roundels i wonder if anybody
has come across it in the past it measures 5" tall thank you for looking folks
Picture 2 shows the polished base middle top :)

Looks interesting. Not a clue but reminds me of The Atomium from Expo 58, Brussels :)

Is it heavy? Just interested to know.
The colour is a curious green as well.
I might have started searching Czech glass based on the cut and bevelled rim although the colour is a strange one.

It's lovely - perfect representation of it's time probably - Ekimp is possibly correct with the Expo idea.

I think it's more likely to be molecules than planets.  8)
There was not only the space race, this was around the time Crick and Watson first untangled DNA.
Molecules held together with sticks was a very popular decorative theme too. Atomic stuff.
Coat and hat racks in particular.
