Topic: Bohemian hock glass

Hi , this glass is 19cm tall and certainly blown,it has a cut stem with a opaque twist and a red core .The foot has all the characteristics of being hand made with a few small air bubbles and white inclusions.The bowl is yellow glass with the classic grape and vine engraving and a flat rim.The pontil is pointed  going slightly up into the stem and there are some black bits at the base of the stem .There is wear but not as much as you would expect from a late 19th century glass.I’d be interested to hear your thoughts ,..It was a charity shop find!,but the craftsmanship seems very good to my eye ..anyway I’d be interested to hear your thoughts , thanks .

I’m not surprised by the silence on this glass, It’s tricky one and I have’nt found a similar hock with a stem like it yet.The style is more of a throw back to an earlier era than hocks from the turn of the 20th century, but there is little wear…has it spent it’s life in a cabinet or is it a retro modern piece ?The crftsmanship seems very good to my eye in all aspects and I have no doubts the stem is cut or it’s a blown piece.The foot is slightly oval and may have been added by someone learning the job as is the case with earlier drinking glasses from these shores, although I don’t know that’s the case on the continent .The pontil I would guess has been fire polished and I’m pretty sure it’s soda glass ?,but I don’t think it’s Dutch ?I’ll keep surfing !

Do you know it's Bohemian?  Perhaps changing the title would help.  It doesn't have a Bohemian vibe to me, though of course could be wrong.
But since you don't know where it's from it might help for the title to be more descriptive?

No I don’t really, I’ve just taken a punt on a flat rim, amber flashing, well made soda glass(fairly sure),pointy pontil(don’t really know how bohemian that is ?) and a red core for the stem ?.Is saying bohemian really going to put people off saying it’s not ?i don’t know ?,but I’m more than happy for them to do so , Have you got a feeling about it’s origin ?

I should add that there seems to be a lot of hock glasses about 19cm
