Can anyone help id this green 7 blue vase - Czech? Japan?
« on: February 26, 2022, 04:47:51 PM »
Hi.  Hoping someone may be able to help id the maker and date of this green & blue vase.  Found in Yorkshire it measures 17 cm tall x 14 cm across at the widest part (end of wing to end of wing) and weighs over 1.45 kg.  Flat polished base.  When I first picked it up my immediate thought was Czech and in particular Chribska but I cannot find anything similar.  The Sanyu 'fantasy' range has some similar shapes but I can't find anything that matches the colours.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Surely Chribska. Possibly designed by Josef Hospodka, but you would have to search a little to find a reference...

Ekimp, it's a Chribska vase with a shape in the catalogue Michael linked to :)
It just needs a pattern number for the colour as that differs from the one Michael linked to. It might be in an earlier or later version catalogue but it's a known Chribska colour way.  I have a vase in those colours - different shape.

Sorry Ekimp.  I didn't realise the picture wasn't there when you'd seen it.

(And I keep meaning to say, I'm glad you like the book :)  It's always difficult to recommend books )

That’s ok :)

Yes, pleased with the book thanks. Thanks to the book, I identified a piece that I kept looking at for months in an antiques centre, it is a mug in the Alt Deutsch Style (I think), nothing fancy though.
