Cranberry threaded vase ..Art Nouveau ?
« on: April 19, 2022, 02:11:02 PM »
Hi , this has a very thin threaded line spiralling it’s form ending in a Stuart like blob.It has a polished pontil and one can feel wear along it’s edge,Surprisingly there a a few bubbles in the glass here and there .The spiral seems almost to good to be done by hand, but I don’t know for certain how it was done ?,it’s also very delicate but seems to have survived intact apart from some very minor nibbles which is surprising aswell if it is an older piece .Any thoughts many thanks .

Seems a well made item, very precise. How big is it?

John

6” high, it has a well done polished pontil but their is a distinct lean to one side and as mentioned bubbles, more than you would expect really. There are striations around the rim but not the main body.Maybe a good company making a large run to order ?

Kristallfabrik Steigerwald Regenhütte used a lot of nicely rounded applied pads and tails (not sure about longer trails).  I think they were in green, red and maybe yellow.  The perfection of the application of the pad reminded me of them.
