My salt appeared the same colour as your frog in my initial photos, colours often don't reproduce exactly the same.

I was thinking it might be air trapped, like this by David Huchthausen. It looks quite a similar design.

After looking at it again, the swirls are definitely air bubbles. Some have slightly different shapes.
