Iridescent pink perfume bottle with possible mark?
« on: May 25, 2022, 06:29:19 PM »
Hi
Picked up this rather pretty perfume bottle (I expect, although it has no stopper). Swirls of pinks and cranberry and a lovely greenish iridescence that the photos haven't fully captured. There seems to be a D and a U or N embossed into the pontil mark, although staring into pontil marks can be like staring into clouds - you can see all sorts of things if you want to, so I can't decide whether it's deliberate.
I'm aware there are many studio makers making similar pieces but haven't been able to tie this down.
Height of 8 cm, width of 9cm..
Thoughts welcome!

Thanks Greg, you may be right.
The colour and surface texture are pretty much the same  to the one posted here:

It is a vase, Midsummer for sure - not unusual for there to be no rising sun prunt covering the pontil mark.

It looked like the kind of opening that should have a stopper.
Thanks for IDing this everyone.

The rim is heat finished and not ground inside the neck for a stopper. This is a fairly typical shape for Midsummer, no missing stopper. It is a complete vase.  :)
