Topic: Teal and copper heavy, thick glass bottle

Hi everyone!

I've had this bottle (or I guess vase too?) for some time now and can't find out much about it. I've tried Google Lens which can be hit and miss, and I'm led into various directions, but nothing comes close to this. Any information about this would be greatly appreciated!

There are no mold marks, it's hand blown, and the base has been sanded/smoothed down. The copper specks are embedded in the glass.

I strongly suspect nobody has said anything yet because we are clueless. This a very strange and unusual beast.
But I thought we ought to give you a bump up. We pride ourselves on never giving up on finding an id., so we can't let you just disappear.

The neck and rim could be early studio from Malta or Norway, the main body looks Murano shaped and the glass itself with the inclusions reminds me a bit of Zbigniew Horbowy of Poland, but it's not quite right. 
It looks as if we should know what it is. I am starting to suspect it might be from somewhere more local to you, in Canada.
(Then I panic about Australia or New Zealand. I don't think it's Chinese or Indian.)
It has had a lot of views, I do think we are all just stuck.

It does seem a lot of work for a bottle. Which makes me wonder if it should either have a matching stopper like a decanter (perhaps just decorative) or whether it was made for a table lamp. Just a couple of thoughts to throw out there.

From the size and the neck treatment it looks like it was possibly intended for mounting as a lamp to me. Don't recognise the maker sadly, but will keep looking.

Thanks for the responses so far! Murano did cross my mind but something seemed off. Also, there are no signs of wear on the inner neck, so if there was a stopper, it may have had to be a softer material, like cork maybe? I only say this because I have an Italian cobalt decanter where the inside of its neck has gotten a bit gritty feeling. This is a tough one for sure.

A gritty feeling inside a neck of a decanter is likely to be because it was ground to fit a stopper precisely.
I really like the notion of this being a lamp base. It just seems "right". The neck and rim are sturdy enough to hold electrics and the shade, and would be hidden when in use.
The bottom part, which would show, is a bit more elegant than the top.

I would have thought that with it's height and fairly narrow base it would be unstable with a bulb fitting, cable and lampshade. Also there's nowhere for the cable to run except up the outside and into the side of the fitting, I can't remember seeing a fitting like that.

The base is splayed out a bit, and with a "wiggly" circumference, far less likely to fall over than a round base. I have seen bulb and shade fittings which just attach to the top of the base - no places for cables which do end up running outside. I have to admit, they are not terribly elegant. 
(I have recently been watching my poor cat pulling a badly designed scratching post over on herself. It has a round base. Her old one with a square base did not fall over although the base is actually smaller.)
