Possible Dial Art glass vase.
« on: June 30, 2022, 02:45:22 PM »
Probably not, thought at first a standard, Chinese/floral display vase then I saw the label so as it was so cheap I had to take a risk  ::) I have tried to look online but Plowden and Thompson don't do this type of thing before, I have emailed them in the past but never got a reply.

:) I can't make out what colour /colours it is, or if the glass is plain or has a design or pattern in it.
It might be my monitor and a combination of how bright it is where I am and my eyes going dim with age...
Looking at the worn base, I seem to see a tiny grey bubbly effect, but looking at the body, I can see ambers, purples and a green tinge.
I am very, very confused.  ;D

It's an odd piece of glass, it looks black at first then a muddy brown, shine a strong light on it and you get those streaks, it has a lot of bubbles in it, polished rim and a fair bit of wear, nothing like my other Dial Art vases.  ???

I'll get the popcorn out and wait to see what anybody else says.
I am curious. :)
It there a lustre or iridesence to it? I did wonder if it was that very mirrory lustre.

No lustre, it just shows up fingerprints and the inside looks 'dusty'  ::) ;D
